Spokesperson for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, told the media about the talks between the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Russian PresidentVladimir Putin at the G20 summit in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. According to him, one of the main topics discussed was the situation in Syria.
"They spend a lot of time both with our delegations, and one-on-one, and with foreign ministers. Later they exchanged their opinions on the Syrian affairs. It was a detailed and confidential exchange of opinions,’’ RIA Novosti cites him as saying.
The spokesman for Vladimir Putin noted that the Turkish side raised the issue of lifting the Russian sanctions on agricultural products. "Our Turkish counterparts asked for an early lifting of restrictions on Turkish agricultural products. Necessary work in this area will be continued,’’ he said.
"In general the negotiations were successful. They confirmed mutual intentions to further normalize the relations,’’ Dmitry Peskov concluded.
