US President Donald Trump may still hold discussions with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in the foreseeable future.
According to the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the US leader wants first to ensure that the meeting would be "wise use of time".
"The President wants to ensure that the meeting between him and President Putin is a good use of his time. He doesn't want to waste time",
Leavitt reported.
The administration noted Trump still expects success in the Ukrainian settlement, but does not currently see any interest from Russia.
It was previously reported that the US leader had canceled a meeting with his Russian counterpart scheduled to take place in Budapest.
