Three-hour talks between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili, held during a working visit of Garibashvili to Baku, were focused on key issues of the bilateral relations and the issue of security in the region.
According to the website of the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev and Irakli Garibashvili expressed satisfaction with the successful development of the cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres. The importance of the joint projects that they implement today in the energy and logistics spheres was stressed for both countries and the region.
Ilham Aliyev especial noted the importance of the arrival of Garibashvili to promptly discuss the current bilateral agenda.
The administration of the Georgian government, in turn, reported that at a meeting held at the presidential palace ‘Zagulba’, attention was paid to common work in insuring security in the region.
Irakli Garibashvili emphasized the importance of the good-neighborly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
According to Georgian officials, the parties talked about the prospects of deepening cooperation in the spheres of energy, transport and infrastructure.
The negotiations continued with a friendly dinner in honor of the visit of Garibashvili to Baku, during which an agreement was reached on the visit of Ilham Aliyev to Georgia in the near future.
