Why does Russia' Kaspersky Lab pay Michael Flynn?

US President Barack Obama's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, was paid over $11 by Russia' Kaspersky Lab in 2015 for remarks at a cybersecurity forum in Washington.

In October 2015, Flynn was paid $11,250 by Kaspersky Government Security Solutions (KGSS Inc), which was founded by Eugene Kaspersky, founder of Moscow-based Kaspersky Lab.

Kaspersky Lab said in a statement that Flynn was paid a fee for remarks he delivered at a 2015 cybersecurity forum in Washington, the Hill reported.

“As a private company, Kaspersky Lab has no ties to any government, but the company is proud to collaborate with the authorities of many countries, as well as international law enforcement agencies in the fight against cybercrime,” the company's statement said.
