Witnesses of Boeing crash in Kyrgyzstan about first minutes of tragedy

Residents of the Dacha-Suu village, which was damaged by the cash of a Turkish Airlines cargo plane this morning, did not realize what happened at first, they thought it was an earthquake.

Zumriyat Rezakhanova, a resident of Dacha-Suu, said the plane fell right on the homes where residents were sleeping. "My sister’s home is badly damaged. Luckily she and her family survived," Rezakhanova told Agence France-Presse.

Injured victim Baktygul Kubatova said: "All other houses were on fire, all of them were destroyed, everything was damaged as if it was an earthquake. Thank God that we were just injured and stayed alive".

The Boeing 747 cargo plane crashed near the Manas International Airport at 7.30 a.m. local time during the landing. The aircraft crashed at a suburban settlement, with 15 houses completely destroyed and 32 one-story residential buildings damaged.

According to preliminary data, 37 people, including 5 crew members, died in the crash, 11 others were taken to Bishkek hospitals with multiple serious injuries.
