Work of Islamic party printery suspended in Tajikistan

The Tajik authorities have suspended the activities of the only printery owned by the Islamic Renaissance Party.

The printery published the weekly magazine of the party as well as other materials. "The government has temporarily suspended the activities of the publishing house of the opposition Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan "Muattar" for the lack of sanitary-epidemiological norms," the press service of the party reported.

According to Tajikstandart, the staff of the printery did not pass a regular medical examination, the owner didn't provide them with special medical nutrition or uniforms, as is required by the laws of the Republic.

The party held a meeting of its political Council in Istanbul this week, because it is concerned about the fate of its president, Muhiddin Kabiri. He has not been able to return to Tajikistan since March, because he fears criminal prosecution, Interfax notes.
