The resolution states that a special center or fund will be opened on the basis of consultations with the relevant Azerbaijani state structures. It will include all the information, documents, electronic information resources, publications and films relating to the history, impact and settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

It says Azerbaijan has become a leading state in the region.

The delegates said that the Congress will be the basis for a new stage in the history of the Azerbaijani Diaspora and will make a contribution to the further strengthening of national unity and solidarity.

The delegates of the Congress stressed that they support the efforts and initiatives of President Ilham Aliyev on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The appeal specified that the delegates will further mobilize all the means and abilities to bring to the world community the realities of Azerbaijan, preserve and promote their national and cultural heritage.

In addition, the Congress participants adopted an appeal to the International Atomic UN Energy Agency (IAEA), the European Union and the world community in connection with the operation of the Metsamor nuclear power plant, which, according to the delegates, poses a serious threat not only for the region but for the whole world.

Azerbaijani president's aide for public and political affairs, Ali Hasanov, also addressed the final session of the 4th Congress of World Azerbaijanis. He pointed out that the unity of world Azerbaijanis is necessary for preserving the national feeling and traditions.

"We bring together the world Azerbaijanis in order to popularize our multicultural traditions in the world. We sent a message to the world that we want to create such image of Azerbaijan in the world," he said.

Hasanov reminded that the idea of solidarity and unity of world Azerbaijanis was put forward by the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which existed only 23 months and it became impossible to realize this idea.

Hasanov pointed out that after coming to power, Azerbaijan's National Leader Heydar Aliyev brought up this issue to the agenda again and the country began to celebrate December 31 as the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis. Heydar Aliyev also proposed to hold the congress of world Azerbaijanis.

"We prepared for that congress for three years. We had difficulties that time, as there were forces opposing our solidarity. But we coped with this task with dignity," Hasanov stressed.
He noted that National Leader Heydar Aliyev raised the unity of world Azerbaijanis to the state policy level.

Hasanov pointed out that Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora has done great work since the last congress.

He said that Azerbaijanis residing in various parts of the world should prevent any disagreements among themselves and should always support each other.

"It is time to create the association of world Azerbaijani businessmen, to hold its conference in Baku and mobilize their forces. We have businessmen who are able to finance the campaigns of MPs abroad. We should mobilize their potential," Trend cited him as saying.

Hasanov pointed out that this association will make significant contribution to strengthening the unity of world Azerbaijanis as well.
