The new Olympic Stadium in Baku, which was created specifically for the First European Games, will soon be able to host the largest athletic competitions, namely the European and World Championships. This was stated by the president of the Athletics Federation of Azerbaijan (FLAA), Chingiz Huseynzade.
"The new Olympic Stadium in Baku will host a large number of athletic competitions. In 2017 in the capital of Azerbaijan the Islamic Games, the program of which includes athletics, will be held. At the moment we are negotiating with the European Athletics Association (EAA)," Huseynzade said.
