Today Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree that 2017 will be the year of specially protected natural areas.
‘‘It was decided to hold the year of protected areas in the Russian Federation in order to attract public attention to the conservation of the natural heritage, as well as in connection with 100th anniversary of the creation of Russia's first National Nature Reserve in 2017," the statement published on the official website of legal information informs.
