A proposal was put forward to dissolve the Milli Mejlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) at an urgent meeting of the Political Council of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (Yeni Azerbaijan Party).
It was also proposed to hold the early parliamentary elections. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
The issue will be raised at the parliamentary meeting tomorrow.
The Azerbaijani parliament is comprised of 125 deputies, elected through the majoritarian electoral system. The previous parliamentary elections were held in Azerbaijan on 1 November 2015.
