Thousands of people on Freedom Square in Yerevan are holding a protest against higher electricity fees. Their protests will continue until 7.00pm on Monday, Interfax reports.
The new electricity fee in Armenia is 6.93 drams higher (475.03 drams = $1). The new fees will be set on August 1. Karekin Bagramyan, the head of the State Commission for Regulation of Public Services, said that the fees were raised due to currency fluctuations.
