Yerevan police detains 57 anti-Pashinyan protesters

Today, 57 citizens demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan were apprehended in Yerevan during Tuesday’s protest rally near the third building of the government of Armenia, according to the police department.

They were apprehended under Article 182 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The aforesaid article stipulates the failure to comply with the lawful requirements of  police officers or servicemen of the police troops while carrying out their duties of maintaining public order, ensuring public safety, or guarding facilities.

As reported earlier, a large number of police forces have been concentrated in front of the government buildings since Tuesday morning, as the opposition had announced Monday that they would hold a protest outside the third building of the government because PM Nikol Pashinyan was to come to that building.
