The explosion on the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline in Turkey’s Kars Province was a terrorist attack by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), Turkey’s energy and natural resources minister, Taner Yildiz, stated.
Earlier, Vestnik Kavkaza reported that the residence of Kars province’s governor said that the explosion was due to a gas leak.
On July 27 the Turkey-Iran gas pipeline was blown up in Turkey's eastern Agri province by PKK members. And the Kirkuk-Yumurtalik oil pipeline was blown up in Turkey’s Sirnak province on July 29.
