Yunus-Bek Yevkurov: I associate national flag with a sense of duty to motherland

Today, residents of Ingushetia celebrate the Day of National Flag for the second time. It was created by the decree of the head of the republic in 2014. A year ago, on this day, national flag of the Republic of Ingushetia was officially raised in the city of Malgobek. The head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov told Vestnik Kavkaza about the achievements that the republic reached before this holiday.

"For me, the national flag of Ingushetia is a symbol of authority, symbol of the republic of Ingushetia, which shows it's statehood as part of the Russian Federation. This is an important topic, since it is associated with manifestations of patriotism and sense of duty to the motherland, to the republic. I'm sure that every citizen feels the same thing about the flag of Ingushetia. At least that's how it should be," Yevkurov stressed.

Answering the question about what achievements the republic reached before this day, the head of Ingushetia noted that they fulfilled all the tasks, including "May decrees" of the President. "We are in the second place on implementation of these decrees. We are in the top twenty regions of Russia on effective governance and work of state authorities - in the eleventh honored place. We reach great results in many aspects," he informed.

Speaking about what thematic festive events are held in honor of the Flag Day, the head of Ingushetia noted that it is a normal working day for the residents of Ingushetia. "Before this day, we carry out performances, exhibitions in schools, libraries, on television and in the media in order to promote the republic's flag and other symbols of state authority," he concluded.
