Yunus-bek Yevkurov: people are not divided on basis of religion in Ingushetia

The head of Ingushetia, Yunus-bek Yevkurov, told Vestnik Kavkaza about a celebration of one of the main Muslim holidays, Eid al-Adha, in the republic.

First of all, he emphasized that the entire country is in a festive mood today, "as required by the religion." "In the morning people went to mosques, then a ceremony of offering sacrifices took place, they also visited cemeteries, visited their relatives and friends," Yevkurov said.

The head of the republic drew attention to the fact that representatives of all the confessions celebrate holidays together in Ingushetia. "We celebrate both Muslim and Orthodox holidays. Therefore, after a sacrifice meat and other things were handed to everyone, not dividing people on the basis of religion. Imams have lists of those in need and there are Orthodox people among them," he said.

"No one divides people on their own and others here, on the contrary, we celebrate together, we allocate assistance equally. We carry out religious activities this way, performing good deeds, yesterday, today and tomorrow," Yunus-bek Yevkurov added.

The head of Ingushetia also noted that the Eid al-Adha holiday is a joyful celebration for all the believers. "There will be no fireworks, we do not plan anything like this. The most important things were held in the morning, and the rest is a family holiday, which should be spent with family and guests," he concluded.
