Zakharova slams Ukraine Security Council head's words on new Kerch Strait provocation

Statements by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov about preparing a new passage for Ukrainian vessels through the Kerch Strait are absolutely irresponsible and are designed to aggravate the situation, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Wednesday, UrduPoint reported.

Turchynov earlier said Kiev planned to carry out a new passage for Ukrainian ships through the Kerch Strait.

"This is just an announcement of another provocation. It is absolutely irresponsible and is designed only to aggravate the situation, despite the fact that many partners of Ukraine are engaged in a real attempt to find ways of de-escalation," Zakharova said at a briefing.
