Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held talks with his Libyan counterpart Mohamed Taher Siala today in Yokohama, Japan.
Zarif discussed bilateral relations and the recent developments in Libya with the Libyan Foreign Minister on the sidelines of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), the Mehr news agency reported.
On April 4, Libya's military strongman General Khalifa Haftar announced the launch of an operation to seize the capital Tripoli from "terrorists." Forces with the Tripoli government have announced an operation to defence the capital called 'Volcano of Anger'. Since then, more than 1,000 people have been killed in Tripoli and at least 5,500 injured.
