Zelensky ready for dialogue with Putin

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky is ready for a direct dialogue with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Berlin Andriy Melnyk said in an interview with Handelsblatt.

According to the diplomat, Zelensky "is also ready to conduct direct negotiations with President Putin at any time," but Moscow "rejects" Kyiv's outstretched hand.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that there was "nothing" for the meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, and for the moment, the pumping of Ukraine with weapons is ongoing amid Kyiv's failure to comply with the Minsk agreements.

According to Melnyk, it is "extremely important" that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz personally advocate the resumption of the Normandy Format talks (Russia, Germany, France, Ukraine).
