Zenit and Krasnodar out of UEFA Europa League

Russia’s Zenit St. Petersburg lost 1:2 to Spain’s Villarreal in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League and failed to advance into the tournament’s next stage.

The game was held at the Estadio de la Ceramica in Spain on Thursday night.

The goals were scored by Villarreal’s Gerard Moreno (29’) and Carlos Bacca (47’). Branislav Ivanovic (90+1’) scored for Zenit.

Zenit goalkeeper Andrei Lunev received an injury and was substituted on the 64th minute.

Earlier, Russia’s FC Krasnodar tied 1:1 with Valencia in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday and did not make it into the next round of the tournament.

The goals were scored by Krasnodar’s Magomed Suleymanov (85’) and Valencia's Goncalo Guedes (93’).
