Millions of Iranian citizens have gathered at the capital's Freedom
Square to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in
1979, Press TV reports.
Ruhollah Khomeini, leader of the revolution and founder of the current
regime, returned from his 14-year emigration in France to Tehran on
February 1, 1979.
Iran will celebrate until February 11, the victory day of the Islamic
Revolution. On February 11, 1979, the regime of the pro-Western Shah
Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was overthrown.
