Georgia is starting to restore monuments included on the list of
UNESCO heritage sites, Georgia Online reports.
Several monuments were added to the list by UNESCO in 2011. Among them
is the Cross Monastery in Mtskheta and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in
Mtskheta, as well as the Svan towers in Lanchvari in Svanetia and old
stone houses in Mestia. A modern tourist infrastructure will be
developed next to the monuments.
The restoration works will be carried out in accordance with the
requirements of UNESCO.
