Iran preparing to send its first astronaut into space

Preparatory work for launching a “Kaveshgyar 4” artificial satellite
is being conducted at the moment in Iran. The satellite will take
living creatures into orbit, according to the head of the Iranian
Space Agency, Hamid Fazili, Trend cites the Iranian news agency ISNA.

Iran sent living creatures into space for the first time in February 2010.
In August 2010, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran was
going send its first astronaut into space in 2017.
