Armenia to launch religious channel

Armenia will soon launch a religious channel, Alexan Arutyunyan,
chairman of the Public TV and Radio Broadcasting Company of Armenia,
said in parliament on Thursday, News Armenia reports.


He said that they already set cooperation between the "Ararat" culture
channel and the 'Shogakat" church channel. "Shogakat" prepares
programs for "Ararat" and the Public TV to broadcast. The programs
will soon be broadcast on the All-Armenian satellite channel "Ararat".


The council assured that no staff reductions will be held at "Ararat"
and "Shogakat" when the new channel will be launched. The will be a
special editorial office for staff of both channels. "Shogakat" has
recently lost license for broadcasting in a contest, announced by the
National Commission for TV and Radio.
