Armenian NAS agrees on support of Russian Cooperation

The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and the Russian Cooperation
office signed a deal on cooperation in science, technical, education,
humanitarian and cultural spheres in Yerevan on Thursday, News Armenia
reports.


The deal is aimed at stimulating Russian-Armenian inter-government
science-technical, innovative, information and culture cooperation,
Victor Krivopuskov, head of the Russian Cooperation office and
counsellor at the Russian embassy, said at the signing ceremony.


He noted that Russia and Armenia are realizing a set of pilot
projects. The official said that involvement of Armenian youth in
joint creativity and science programs is aimed at realization of the
inter-state program on innovative cooperation of the CIS until 2020.

The Russian Cooperation and the NAS will provide mutual information
support of joint innovative and science-education projects and
programs, support of the Russian-Armenian center for innovative
cooperation, support strengthening of partner relations, business
contacts with government and non-government organizations, science,
business and creative spheres and public unions.


President of the NAS Radik Martirosyan said that the agreement founds
a new type of science-technical cooperation between Armenian and
Russian science centers.


Martirosyan said that Armenian science organizations have a lot of
achievements that can be used in other spheres of science.


The sides will jointly hold science conferences, symposiums,
international exhibitions, science meetings, and festivals. Special
attention will be paid to cooperating with the Council of Young
Scientists of the NAS, contests of young innovators, training, regular
young scientist meetings of the CIS.
