A group of Russian scientists from the Post-Soviet Abroad Department of the Russian State University for the Humanities and the Near Abroad History Department of the History Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University has recently visited Uzbekistan. It's remarkable that the head of both bodies is the Chancellor of the Russian State University for the Humanities, Professor Efim Pivovar.
The visit was organized by the History Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. The group included such scientists as Dr. Ismail Agakishiyev, the Head of the Center for Caucasian Studies at the Russian State University for the Humanities, and Dr. Alexey Vlasov, the Deputy Dean of the History Faculty at Moscow State University.
The Russian delegation took part in a scientific conference in Tashkent and visited the Azerbaijani Cultural Center, the Orthodox Cathedral and other places of interest in Tashkent and Samarkand.
According to Dr. Agakishiyev, the visit has shown that the Russian State University for the Humanities has chosen the right course. "It's very important to enhance regional ties, what we need is successful cooperation with neighbouring countries in the sphere of science," Dr. Agashiyev said.
