The Iranian province of Alborz has opened a research institute for agricultural biotechnologies and a center for biotechnologies of the Organization of Universal Jihad. Thus, the province will be the country’s center for biotechnologies, Iran News reports.
The head of the Industry and Mining Organization of Alborz Province, Said Zarandi, visited the new facilities and said that there are numerous enterprises and pharmaceutical companies operating.
Zarandi noted that they plan to construct several more factories for medicine production to the north of the Keredzh-Kazvin Highway. They are also considering construction of biotechnological facilities in Gyarmdarre-Keredzh District.
