A delegation of Russian historians has arrived for a meeting at the Azerbaijani Academy of Sciences, headed by the dean of the history faculty of Moscow State University, Sergey Karpov.
The delegation consists of Alexey Vlasov, deputy dean of the history section and Director General of the Information and Analytic Center of the history department, and Ismail Agakishiyev, head of the Center of Caucasus Studies of the Russian State University for the Humanities.
Mahmoud Kerimov, President of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences, greeted the Russian delegation. He thanked Karpov for his great contribution to mediavistics and over 400 of his works.
Karpov was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences and an Honorary PhD of the academy’s History Institute.
The head of the History Institute, Yagub Mahmudov, thanked Karpov for his contribution.
Karpov said that, despite changes and processes, the two countries will always have strong ties. The goal is to improve ties in the scientific sphere.
