Mikhail Kozakov dies

The famous Russian actor Mikhail Kozakov died on Friday after a long illness, Oleg Basilashvili announced on radio station Ekho Moskvy.

Earlier, the media reported that the 76-year-old actor was in an Israeli hospital near Tel Aviv.

Mikhail Kozakov directed several films, including  "Pokrovsky Gates" and "Nameless Star", which have become iconic, and also worked on films and dramas, including "The Visit”, "Masquerade” and "Faust. "

Kozakov started acting in 1956, his debut was a film by Mikhail Romm, "Murder on Dante Street”, followed by films such as "Man-Amphibian " and “Hello, I'm Your Aunt."
