The population growth rate has reached 0.3% for the first time in 4 months. The highest rate was registered in Astana (10,542), Alma-Ata (18,957) and Southern Kazakh Region (12,212). The highest reduction of population was registered in the Eastern Kazakh Region (minus 1,075).
46,500 boys and 43,800 girls were born in Kazakhstan in January-March, the ratio is 106 boys per 100 girls. 21,200 men and 17,600 women died, or 1,201 men per 1000 women.
The country had a surplus of migration in January-March, equal to 4,344. Most migrants come from the CIS. The share of emigrants and immigrants of the CIS is 75.2% and 93.0% relatively.
