The administration of Vladikavkaz has initiated the first national
contest of Ossetian cheese at the city fair on June 4.
The contest will be held within celebrations of the Vladikavkaz Day.
Organizers of the contest say that cheese-makers from cities and
districts of North Ossetia will present their products. Businessmen
and individuals will participate in the contest.
The contest will split into ripe pickled and non-ripe pickled cheeses.
An expert commission will rate products. There will be tasting of
salads. All visitors of the fair may rate the products.
Conclusion of the contest will be at the city celebrations. Winners
will receive 25,000 rubles. The second and third places will receive
15,000 and 10,000 rubles respectively.
Organizers of the contest say that it will allow them to determine the
best cheese-makers and open business contacts with trade enterprises
of North Ossetia and other Russian regions.
