Azerbaijani seismologists have registered no earthquakes, Trend cites
the Director of the Center for Seismology Survey of the National
Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Gurban Yetirmishli, as saying.
Earthquake magnitude has not exceeded 3-4 points on the Richter scale.
He added that earthquakes in Azerbaijan are not interconnected with
earthquakes in Japan or any change in the Earth’s axis. Azerbaijan and
Japan are located in different tectonic zones.
Yetirmishli said that they have registered over 700 earthquakes in the
spring months. Only 6 of them could be felt.
Azerbaijan had 2040 earthquakes registered in 2010.
