Baku is hosting the Second International Music Festival “Silk Road”,
supported by the Azerbaijani Composers' Union, ANS Press reports.
Musicians will arrive from Turkey, Ukraine, Norway, Poland, India,
South Korea and other states.
The Azerbaijani State Carpet Museum held a presentation of the Musical
Magic of the Carpet multimedia project of Javad Tagizade.
There will be concerts of Chopin, Liszt, Kara Karayev with the
participation of Stanislav Dey (Poland) and Nargiz Aliyarova
(Azerbaijan) and concerts by the Sarod group of Amaan Ali Han (India),
the string quartet Ricochet (Ukraine) and the Azerbaijani State
Ensemble of Old Musical Instruments.
The Gadjibekov Concert Hall of the Azerbaijani Composers' Union plans
a master class by the pianist Stanislav Dey.
The Silk Road Festival is being held from June 28 to July 1. It will
open at the Icheri Sheher with a demonstration of the mugham opera by
Uzeir Gajibekov “Esli and Kerem”. The first festival was held at Sheki
last year.
