Sochi hosts Cultural Olympics

The Cultural Olympics "Sochi-2014" has started in Sochi with an
opening ceremony, which gathered popular singers, musicians,
show-business figures and athletes in the central square of the
Olympic city. At the ceremony, the famous Russian director, actor and
producer Fedor Bondarchuk was declared an honorable ambassador of
"Sochi-2014", reports ITAR-TASS.
This years Olympics are devoted to cinema, after it was decided to
hold various cultural events in anticipation of the Winter Olympics -
2014.
The opening ceremony of the cultural festivities was attended by local
officials and the deputy chairman of the government Alexandre Zhukov,
who read President Medvedev's message of greeting.
