Armenia plans to introduce international standards in five
universities, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said.
Armenia has the American University of Armenia and the French
University that have accreditation, and at least three more need it.
The premier said that the universities are the basis for innovative
economy and form science and research laboratories. Education is a
priority for Armenia in the 21st century.
Armenia has 16 state and 42 private higher education centers, four
more universities operate according to deal with Russia.
