Armenian PM awards Syndrome of a Down frontman

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received frontman of popular US alternative-rock band System of a Down Serj Tankian on Saturday, News.am reports.

Premier stressed that finds Tankian’s visit important in the context of development of rock music in Armenia. He said there is an association uniting a number of Armenian rock bands.

Armenian PM and Serj Tankian also discussed organization of “Rock against Genocide” festival dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and participation of famous rock bands and musicians.

Tigran Sargsyan awarded Serj Tankian a medal for considerable contribution to recognition of the Armenian Genocide and contribution to rock music.
