The Armenian Culture Ministry has announced a contest for the best
orchestration of the national anthem of Armenia. Sona Arutyunyan, head
of the section for modern art of the Culture Ministry, said that
results of the contest will most likely be announced in September,
News.am reports.
No contests terms have been set. The judges will listen to various
performances of orchestras choruses, vocalists and instruments.
The Armenian anthem was set on July 1, 1991. The text was composed by
Armenian poet and public figure Michael Nalbandyan, based on the 'Song
of an Italian Girl'. Barseg Kanachyan wrote the music.
