Muslim Magamayev memorial unveiled in Moscow

A monument to Muslim Magamayev was unveiled today in Moscow in front of the Azerbaijani Embassy, RIA Novosti reports.

Muslim Magomayev was a famous Azerbaijani-born Soviet baritone operatic and pop singer of the 1960s and 1970s. Magomayev became a legend in the USSR and post-Soviet countries.

Magomayev died on October 25, 2008 in Moscow from a heart attack and was buried in the Alley of Honors in Azerbaijan.
