The Iranian film "Nader and Simin: A Separation" will compete for the 2012 Best Foreign Language Film Oscar of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), Press TV reports.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, "Nader and Simin: A Separation" recounts the story of a middle-class Iranian couple who are getting a divorce, while considering the future of their only child.
The two-hour drama had the most successful screening in France, where it was welcomed by more than 800, 000 film lovers and was called 'the summer's surprise' by Le Monde newspaper.
