Tehran has held a presentation of Iranian nanotechnologies, ITAR-TASS reports.
Five advanced devices were presented for pharmaceuticals, chemistry, medical diagnostics, estimations and photography.
Such devices are only available in the USA, Russia, Germany, China and Japan. One of them is worth $100,000, while the Iranian type costs a third of this.
Said Sarkar, head of the Iranian special organization for development of nanotechnologies, said that Iran is the top Islamic state in the sphere of science and takes 12th position in the world. It has 150 nano companies and 17 universities studying nano technologies.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited the presentation.
Iran produced nanoscopes with a magnification from 8 nm to 8 micro meters. The nanoscopes were presented to the presidents of Venezuela and Brazil, Hugo Chavez and Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalif Al Thani and Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev.
