Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree on the formation of a state committee for TV, radio broadcasting and cinematography with Shadurdy Alovov supervising the new structure, Trend reports.
The initiative was passed to make TV, radio and cinematography meet modern standards and technologies. The committee will realize the state policy in the sphere.
The state committee will be the successor of the General Directorate of Turkmen Television. Turkmenfilm named after Oguz khana and the Teleradiomerkezi State Enterprise will be part of the committee.
The new structure and the Justice Ministry are to introduce proposals of amendments to national legislature to the Cabinet within a month.
