Azerbaijani school opens in Astrakhan

An Azerbaijani secondary school named after Heydar Aliyev has been opened in
Astrakhan, Trend reports.

Among the members of the Azerbaijani delegation on an official visit to the
Astrakhan region were representatives of the Azerbaijani Presidential
Administration, the Ministry of Education and of the Narimanov district of Baku.

Alexander Zhilkin, who has been supporting a strategic policy of
establishing close cooperation with the Caspian states for the past few years,
said that "the region is living like a large international family, we do not
have and never have had any national issues. Moreover, Heydar Aliyev was our
native man. Just like Azerbaijanis, we are proud of our countryman Nariman
Narimanov and believe that he was a native of Astrakhan," he said.
