The Baku Slavic University has opened a festival of Russian literature, which will last until 4 November, News Azerbaijan reports.
The festival was organized as part of the federal purpose program “Russian Language (2011-2015)” by the Federal Agency for the CIS, Compatriots Living Abroad and Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) and the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”.
The head of the Oriental Studies department of the Higher School of Economics, Yevgeny Kovalkov, said that it is the fourth such event organized by the Baku Slavic University.
The university is also preparing a system of quota admissions for talented youth of Azerbaijan, with support from the Russian Ministry for Education and Science.
The festival will promote Russian language and literature in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani culture in Moscow. A deal will be signed between the heads of the Baku Slavic University and the Higher School of Economics.
