Cultural Program of Eastern Partnership opens website

The website of the Cultural Program of the Eastern Partnership was launched. It aims to promote the activities of the program, 1news.az reports with reference to the Information Centre of the European Partnership (ENPI).

The new website will provide a platform for networking and exchange of experience in the field of culture between the six Eastern Partnership countries - Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus and Armenia.

One of the main functions of the website is the communication on the regional level in various industries, allowing people to exchange news and events of their national cultural programs, as well as to monitor the activities of colleagues from neighboring countries.

The Cultural Program of the Eastern Partnership is funded by the EU and has a budget of 12 million euros aimed at assisting partner countries in the reform of cultural policy at the governmental level as well as improving the professionalism of artists and policy-makers in the region. The program covers the period from 2010 to 2013.

The website is designed to help in establishing strong contacts through the Contact database, which will include organizations and institutions working in the field of culture and other related areas, both in the Eastern Partnership and the EU. Another tool should be the library of best practices and case studies, which will include a spectacular success story, with an emphasis on management practices and the development of cultural policies, as well as cross-cultural collaboration.

Later on the web site will receive the section "Legal assistance", which will refer to the regulatory framework in the sphere of culture in all participating countries. This will be done in order to compare, analyze and determine the next steps to improve the governance in the cultural sphere.
