In a couple of days the general public will have an opportunity to see
the most ancient known shoe in the world, exhibited in the Armenian
History Museum, the director of the Archeological and Ethnographic
Research Center of the Armenian Academy of Sciences, Pavel Avetisyan,
said, Armenia Today reports.
According to him the well-preserved shoe was found during a joint
Armenian-Irish archeological expedition on the banks of the Arfa River
in 2008. The time of the shoe's make dates back to 3600-3500 B.C. The
shoe has been carefully studied but still there are some tests to
undergo. The uniqueness of this artifact is that scientists dated not
the area, where the shoe was found, but the shoe itself.
