Aydan Salakhova, an artist and teacher, owner of the Aydan gallery, is closing business to concentrate on art, RIA Novosti reports.
The artist said that she wants to open the Aidan Studio at a Vinzavod.
Aydan Gallery has been a notable place for 20 years. Aydan’s art was popular among collectors. Her gallery presented works of Anna Zhelud, Rauf mamedov, Oksana Mas, Rostan Tavasiyev and Gor Chakhal.
Aydan’s works can be found at private collections, State Gallery of Tretyakov, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Yekaterina Fund. A price per piece of art ranges from 20,000 to 25,000 euro.
Salakhova has been teaching at the Moscow State Academic Institute of Art named after Surikov ince 2000. She plans to mark the 20th anniversary of Aydan Gallery on April 23.
Aydan Salakhova is a daughter of Azerbaijani artist Tair Salakhov. She was born in Moscow, graduated at the Moscow State Arts Institute named after Surikov. She became a notable artist in the 1980s. She opened the First Gallery in 1989, Aydan Gallery in 1992. She received the silver medal of the Russian Academy of Arts in 2002. She was a member of the Russian Public Chamber in 2005-2007.
