'Fly to Baku' Azerbaijani art exhibition opens in Paris

The exhibition "Fly to Baku: Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan", organized and supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the English version of Baku magazine, has been opened in Paris.

President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, Vice President of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, as well as French Culture and Communications Minister Frederic Mitterrand attended the opening ceremony, AzerTAj reports.

The "Fly to Baku: Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan" exhibition was shown previously in London. Interest in the exhibition could be felt from advertising boards placed on the central streets of the French capital.

The exhibition, having a special significance among events held by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to raise awareness of the world about Azerbaijan, has been opened in the famous Paris residence of Salomon de Rothschild. This once again proved that promotion of our culture is a priority direction in the activities of Azerbaijan's first lady Mehriban Aliyeva and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Vice President Leyla Aliyeva.

The exhibition initiated by Mrs. Leyla Aliyeva can be assessed as a successful presentation of contemporary Azerbaijani art inspired by the juncture of Eastern and Western cultures.
