Bulgaria holds Persian carpet exhibition in Sofia

The Bulgarian capital of Sofia has opened an exhibition of Persian carpets in an attempt to boost cultural relations between the two countries, Press TV reports.

The event is part of cultural programs organized to mark the 115th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Bulgaria, CHTN reported.

The carpet exhibition was opened during a ceremony attended by the Cultural Policy Director of Bulgaria’s Ministry of Culture Deyana Danailova and the Iranian Ambassador to Sofia Gholamreza Baqeri-Moqaddam.

A number of foreign ambassadors to Bulgaria, diplomats and Iranian art lovers also attended the opening ceremony of the week-long exhibition.

“The carpet exhibition is a joint event to celebrate 115 years of cultural collaboration between Iran and Bulgaria,” Danailova said during the ceremony.
