Palace of Sheki Khans might become UNESCO heritage site

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism has decided to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Palace of the Sheki Khans, the official website of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Baku announced, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports. At the moment, certain steps are being undertaken to recognize the Palace of the Sheki Khans, built in 1762, as a world heritage site of UNESCO.

On July 4 a ceremony to mark the 250th anniversary of the Palace of the Sheki Khans will take place.

The Palace of the Sheki Khans was built in the 18th century in the Persian style and has two floors.
