Georgian authorities to pardon debts of TV channels

The Georgian parliament started talks on the initiative of Georgian
President Mikhail Saakashvili on a tax amnesty for all TV channels,
News Georgia reports.


The parliamentary secretary, Giya Khuroshvili, said that the total
debt is estimated at $19 million. He said that the channels will be
absolved for the period from 2004 to March 2010. It will be a one-off
amnesty. Mikhail Saakashvili announced his initiatives in February
this year during the annual report to the Georgian parliament.
