The sixth Yerevan International Music Festival will start in Yerevan on September 10.
The legendary musician Michel Legrand will perform at the closing of
the festival, on October 20, accompanied by the Armenian Philharmonic
Orchestra and City Lights Entertainment (London), Aysor reports. The
performance of Legrand coincides with the celebration of his 80th
birthday.
Michel Jean Legrand was born on February 24, 1932 in Paris. Legrand is a
renowned French composer, pianist, conductor and singer. He is a
three-time Oscar winner. In 1968 he won an Oscar for best song,
"The Windmills of your Mind", composed for the American film "The Thomas
Crown Affair." He is also famous for composing music for a French
movie in 1964, "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg."
